I am taking a class taught by Diana Bauman. She is currently just explaining to us exactly what we are doing but on Wednesday we are supposed to have our books so we can start coding. I've never actually thought about doing this type of thing as a profession but now that she continues to talk about it, I feel like I could actually have a lot of fun. I am pretty excited to learn how to 'make things pretty' as she called it. So far I understand almost everything she has talked about. HTML is basically the basic stuff the browser needs to know when someone is searching and CSS is the pretty stuff. :)
Later on in the class we have to design our own website. I think mine should be something fun. Since I'm a dance teacher and my friend is opening her own 'dance studio' type thing I may base it off of the studio's site that I work for (amypeeldanceavenue.com) but I would also like to do something more interactive such as the famous Facebook.com. That just seems a little too complicated for a beginner. It would be cool also if it could be updated on a cell phone and people could post and ask questions about what time practice was or to inform the teachers they were sick or simply wouldn't be attending for other reasons. As another layout option, I like the Designer Images website designerimagesphotography.com. They took my senior pictures and I go to their website every so often just because I like it. I'm not 100% sure on how it's going to look yet. Those are just some options :)
